A wonderful friend endowed me with some marvelous winter gluhwein tea sachets...and this piece grew out of that spirit-warming experience.
The scents of mulling spices are the essence of the holidays for me: of a house filled with baking and revelry at Year's End.
Each link is a bead, a symbol of a moment, a memory that has a sweetness and importance of its own.
The beads all march, one after another, on little swinging copper-patina rings, made free to move with you. (If needed, I can lengthen or shorten the piece for you).
Wearing it, you will notice that it changes continually, depending on how you orient it.
There is no clasp; at 50+ you can easily double it over a sweater.
It will be the beginning of a conversation and a flash of appreciation.
Like the Gluhwein spices, it is an ombre design, blending from one muted shade to the next, like a disappearing rainbow.
